Thousands in Grants Given to Many Decatur Charities


DECATUR- The Organization 'We Are One Community' gave away $20,500 on Labor Day 2015.  The group is a charitable giving fund of working families.  At Fairview Park in Decatur the group gave away $17,500.

Here's how the grants broke down to which charities:

$5000 YMCA So Much More Program

$2500 Decatur Day Care Center

$2000 Old Kings Orchard Community Playground Project

$1000 Homework Hangout Pre-Apprentice Program

$1000 DMCOC Senior Services

$1000 Good Samaritan Inn

$1000 Boy Scouts

$1000 Big Brothers Big Sisters

In addition We Are One Community will mail $3000 in grants to the Boys & Girls Club, Veterans & Friends League, American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Webster Cantrell Hall, Eddie Eagle Foundation, Catholic Charities, CASA, DOVE, Shriner's Hospital, Heritage House, Visiting Nurses, Special Olympics, Homeward Bound Pet Shelter and Hospice.
