APL completes new mobile adoption center

Posted: Updated:

SPRINGFIELD - Animal Protective League officials say they will celebrate the completion of the new mobile adoption center with a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

The ceremony will be held at the APL's shelter in Springfield.  Officials say the new, 30-foot-long trailer is self-contained, and will feature a generator to power the trailer's climate-control system and lights.  The trailer will be able to safely and comfortably transport up to 25 dogs and cats at one time, and will also be outfitted with a meet-and-greet room, where citizens looking to adopt a pet may interact one-on-one with potential pets.

Pets are also up for adoption at the APL shelter every day from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  For more information about the APL, visit http://www.apl-shelter.org/.
