New Mayor Appointed in Lincoln

LINCOLN – The Lincoln City Council selected a new mayor for the City of Lincoln at their regular meeting on Monday, September 21.

Martha “Marty” A. Neitzel will serve as the Mayor of the City of Lincoln after the resignation of former Mayor Keith Snyder earlier in the year.

Mayor Neitzel will serve out the balance of the term of the former mayor which ends April 30, 2017. She has served on the Lincoln City Council as an alderman since November 2002. The new mayor elect also was appointed Mayor Pro Temp and served as a temporary chairman during her time on the council.

“As your newly appointed mayor, I will be committed to working with all residents in every neighborhood, listening to your individual ideas and concerns,” Neitzel says.

Neitzel’s appointment is effective immediately.
