Arthur clothing store closing its doors

ARTHUR - A clothing store that has served central Illinois for nearly 60 years has announced that it will soon close its doors for the final time.

Delbert's Clothing, which has operated in Arthur since 1958, announced plans on Monday to close after 57 years in business.  Officials say the decision was reached after two key employees announced their retirement.  Officials also say the store is known for providing the orange blazers that University of Illinois basketball coaches wear during their games.

As a result of the closure, Delbert's Clothing will be hosting an inventory sale beginning October 1, and will continue through October 4.  We've included the hours of operation for those days below:

October 1 - 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
October 2 - 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
October 3 - 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
October 4 - 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
