Taylorville ChiliFest set


(Taylorville)--The Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Chillifest Committee held their final meeting Monday afternoon, before this weekend's event on the Taylorville square, to put the finishing touches on the 30th anniversary of festivities in the Christian County seat.      Some last minute additions to the entertainment schedule include the Taylorville High School Jazz Band performing on the south stage Sunday at eleven in the morning; and 2 kiddie trains for children to enjoy—one called the “Barrel Train” and the other being the Monticello Railway Museum pedal train, complete with track.   Chillifest continues to feature 2 major events that focus on cooking chilli.  The Chamber sells chilli, chilli dogs, and Pepsi products, in the tent south of the courthouse, as one of its major fund-raisers for the year.   The event is also the 30th consecutive year for International Chilli Society judging going on both days, with prize money being offered and first place winners being eligible to cook in the I-C-S World Championship.  Chilli cooks will have booths set up on the east side of the square both days.  he I-C-S judging attracts cooks from all over the Midwest and beyond.        Events begin Saturday morning at 9 on the Taylorville square.
