DANVILLE – Officials for the 2015 Festival of Trees: Miracles on Main Street are seeking entries for this year’s Gingerbread Village and Elfin Evergreens to be a part of a combined display to be showcased at this year’s event.

The Festival of Trees is an annual fundraising event of the Presence United Samaritans Medical Center’s Foundation. This year’s festival will be held November 14 – 18 at the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville.

This festival benefits outreach programs such as I Sing the Body Electric, the HALO Project, Faith in Action, and Young Women / Men Aware.

Event officials say they are looking for individuals, families, classrooms, businesses and civil groups to enter a gingerbread creation for this year’s competition. Awards will be given for first and second place in each category, as well as an overall “Best in Show” honor.

Area kindergarten, first and second grade children will be decorating a forest of miniature holiday trees. This is known as the Elfin Village.

Gingerbread entries will be sold to the public through a silent auction held during the festival. Elfin Evergreen trees will be donated back to the classrooms or other local agencies to be enjoyed after the festival.

Entry forms to register for either of the competitions are available at the Presence United Samaritans Medical Center Foundation office, located at 551 North Logan Avenue in Danville. These forms can also be downloaded at presencehealth.org/festivaloftrees.

Any other questions about these holiday competitions should be directed by phone to 217-442-6803.
