CHAMPAIGN COUNTY – Illinois State Police District 10 report they responded to a traffic crash involving three vehicles on I-57 northbound at milepost 254.5.

Two units were traveling northbound in the area at around 3:39 PM. One of the units, a 2015 Nissan Altima, was driving in the left lane slightly ahead of the other unit, a 2015 Toyota RAV4. A third unit, a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, at that time, was traveling southbound on I-57.

The Crown Victoria lost control on I-57 South, spun sideways through the median divider and entered the northbound lanes where it struck the other two vehicles. It then continued southbound into the east ditch.

The Nissan Altima became disabled in the left lane, while the RAV4 was able to move to the right shoulder.

Multiple parties were transported for non-life threatening injuries by Pro/Presence Ambulance Service. All vehicles were towed from the scene, and the lanes were reopened after extensive back-up.
