Great Growth for Decatur's Economy

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - The economy in Decatur has been on the rise, especially in these past six months.

Ryan McGrady of the EDC said, "The story I tell is Decatur's preparing itself for its future. It's a community that invests in itself and makes the necessary investments and things that are important to support business and its residents."

It seems the story of Decatur rising from the ashes has been what has generated multiple endeavors on part of economic development.

Opening a Dunkin' Donuts in early October has ushered in another retailer for the Brettwood Village shopping mall: Baskin Robbins.

Patrick Hoban, City of Decatur’s Economic Development said, “There’s constant investment going on within Decatur, and they can see successful stories, and that’s a really important thing to follow up with are the ribbon cutting ceremonies. Every time that there is a project, I say, we gotta get hold of the chamber. Let's celebrate, and this lets them know you've invested here."

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held for Convey Health Solutions on Thursday, October 29, at 10:30 AM.
