SPRINGFIELD – HSHS St. John’s Hospital has received an “A” rating in patient safety for the seventh consecutive time.
An independent industry watchdog organization, “Leapfrog Group,” is behind the rating. HSHS St. John’s Hospital is the only hospital in Sangamon and the surrounding counties to receive an “A.”
The hospital safety score is compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety. It rates how well hospitals protect patients from accidents, errors, injuries, and infections.
“I want to thank our colleagues and medical staff for their commitment to high quality and safe patient care,” said Charles L. Lucore, MD, MBA, President and CEO of St. John’s Hospital. “This continued recognition shows our team makes a difference and honors the mission of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis.”
