ISP investigating IL 128 Hit and Run

FAYETTE COUNTY – Illinois State Troopers are investigating a crash with injuries that occurred on Friday, October 30 at 5 PM on IL 128.

The crash took place approximately one mile north of US Route 40 in Fayette County.

Preliminary investigative details indicate a 2008 gray Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on IL 128.

An unknown red pick-up was observed traveling northbound on IL 128 in the middle of the roadway. While the driver of the Corolla was able to swerve off the roadway to the right, the pick-up continued to swerve into the southbound lane and sideswiped the Corolla.

The pick-up then continued northbound on IL 128 after the collision, accelerating at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the Corolla was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham by parents with minor injuries.
