Medical Marijuana Sales Begin Monday

Springfield-- Sales of Medical Marijuana begin in Illinois for the first time Monday. The pilot program Director says eight dispensaries are authorized to start selling to patients who have their medical marijuana ID cards. Joseph Wright predicts there will be a dozen dispensaries by the end of the month and up to 25 by the end of the year. The eight licensed dispensaries are in Marion, Mundelein, Canton, Quincy, Addison, North Aurora, Schaumburg, and Ottawa. More than 3,000 patients have been approved for Medical Marijuana so far on the state. Patients are required to tell the state which dispensary they'll use before they are allowed to make purchases.
