Serve Illinois joining #ILGive Campaign to support Nonprofits

Posted: Updated:

SPRINGFIELD – The Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service is joining Forefront in its #ILGive campaign to help increase donations for Illinois nonprofit organizations.

#ILGive is a statewide, non-partisan movement to support nonprofit communities in the state by increasing individual giving. The movement will launch on December 1, 2015 as part of the nationwide #GivingTuesday campaign.

Forefront launched a statewide campaign last year that helped more than 600 charitable organizations raise almost $4 million by motivating 5,000 new donors. This year’s goal for #ILGive is $6 million donated by Illinois residents on #GivingTuesday.

The #ILGive campaign will focus on utilizing social media to motivate making donations.

Forefront hopes to build on last year’s success, with the help of its founding partners, and see more individuals, community leaders, nonprofits, elected officials, corporate partners and others join the movement.
