SPRINGFIELD - Officials with the Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service say they are now accepting nominations for the Governor's Volunteer Service Awards.

Citizens will be able to nominate individuals who volunteer their time to benefit their communities.  Additionally, select for-profit businesses will also be recognized for their efforts.

Officials say they will present awards to one youth, one adult, and one senior in each of the Commission's five service regions in Illinois.  Nominations must be submitted no later than January 29, 2016.
