Operation Enduring Support in need of Donations for Care Packages

DECATUR – Operation Enduring Support will be sending Easter Packages to troops deployed overseas.

The support group needs APO/FPO military addresses and donations no later than February 25. Submit AFO/FPO addresses to Ann Irwin by email at a.irwin@att.net or by phone at 217-428-5396; or to Diana Olson by email at dolson@decaturgrace.org or by phone at 429-5374.

They also may be mailed to Operation Enduring Support, c/o Grace United Methodist Church, 901 N. Main Street, Decatur, IL, 62521.

Donations for postage and items to fill the boxes would be appreciated. They may be mailed or brought to the church from 8 AM to noon, Monday through Thursday.

The specialty included in this mailing is Girl Scout Cookies and OES needs at least 100 boxes. Suggested donations include personal care items, energy bars, cheese and cracker packs, beef jerky and cheese sticks, canned meat, sandwich spread, puzzle books and beanie babies, and playing cards. Letters from school and Sunday school children, dark lightweight socks, eye drops, lip balm, sun screen, Aloe Vera gel and individual drink packages are also needed.

Operation Enduring Support has been sending care packages to deployed military since 2003.
