Ammons announced as Keynote Speaker at MLK Celebration

URBANA – State Representative Carol Ammons (D-Urbana) is set to speak at the Martin Luther King, Jr., celebration taking place at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

Representative Ammons will be speaking at the MLK celebration sponsored by the Office of the Chancellor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the cities of Champaign and Urbana.

Attendees will be reflecting on the life and legacy of Dr. King.

“Dr. King was such an inspiring man that was the spark to many of the changes and equality that we experience today,” Ammons says.

Ammons will serve as the keynote speaker for the celebration that will take place on Sunday, January 17 at 5 PM at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on the University of Illinois campus, located at 500 South Goodwin Avenue in Urbana.

“It is really an honor to be able to speak at a celebration of such an amazing man. I want to make sure that people leave the event, not only reflective of the life and teachings of Dr. King, but also inspired to continue carrying out his work, even in today’s age and time,” Ammons adds.
