USPS to observe President's Day

Posted: Updated:

ILLINOIS - The United States Postal Service is reminding citizens that post offices across central and southern Illinois will be closed on President's Day.

In addition to post offices being closed, USPS officials say there will be no mail delivery on February 15.  Residents who need to use postal services are encouraged to use a self-service kiosk or visit a Postal Service Approved Shipper.

Self-Service Kiosks may be found in Champaign, Carbondale, and Decatur.  A list of Postal Service Approved Shippers can be found here.

Anyone with stamped or metered mail ready for deliver, including businesses, are encouraged to drop off their mail at blue-colored street collection boxes in their communities.  Crews will collect the mail from these boxes at about 3:00 p.m.

Regular service will resume on February 16.  For more information, click here.
