Springfield officials release list of prohibited parking areas on February 10

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Office of Public Works has announced that parking will be prohibited on several streets on February 10 due to the scheduled visit of President Barack Obama.

Public Works officials say parking on the following streets will be prohibited:

- Second Street, between Adams and Edwards Streets
- Sixth Street, between Edwards and Monroe Streets
- Capitol Avenue, between Second and Seventh Streets
- Edwards Street, between Second and College Streets
- Monroe Street, between Walnut and Ninth Streets
- Walnut Street, between Edwards Street and North Grand Avenue

Any vehicles parked in these areas will be towed, and officials say parking enforcement will begin at 8:00 a.m.  For more information, call the Springfield Office of Public Works at (217) 789-2255.
