Parkland College to Host Targeted Career Fair

Posted: Updated:

CHAMPAIGN – Parkland College's Career Center will host a career-specific job fair, on February 10, featuring two of its major program areas.

The Engineering Science and Technologies and Agriculture Careers Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Parkland College Student Union. This event is free.

Visitors to the fair will be able to speak with Parkland faculty and staff about the types of careers available with Parkland training in agriculture, construction and the skilled trades, automotive, industrial technology, diesel power equipment, and similar fields within engineering science. Local employers in agriculture and the engineering science fields also will be on hand to discuss internships and current job openings.

Career Center Director Sandy Spencer said today's colleges are trending toward hosting smaller, targeted career fairs rather than college-wide, community job fairs. This allows a greater focus on recruitment and retention to increase student success.
