MACON COUNTY – Fire personnel, along with Decatur officers, were on the scene of a house fire on East Lost Bridge Road Tuesday night.

A home on Lost Bridge Road between 34th Street and Baltimore Avenue was fully engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived on Tuesday, February 9. Crews closed down Lost Bridge Road between those streets as they worked to contain the flames.

One man has been hurt, according to fire officials. He is described as being elderly and has been transported by ambulance to an area hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown, as of 9:45 PM.

As crews clean up the area and perform an investigation, drivers are encouraged to use Fitzgerald Road as an alternate route around the scene.

We will provide more details as they become available.
