Illinois State Board of Education to begin contract negotiations with College Board

Posted: Updated:

SPRINGFIELD - Illinois State Board of Education officials say they are beginning the process of negotiating a contract with the College Board to prepare a new college entrance examination for students.

ISBE officials say they released a request for sealed proposals for a new college entrance exam in July 2015 due to a previous contract with ACT expiring on June 30, 2015.

Officials also say the procurement process adhered to the Illinois Procurement Code, and that a Notice of Award was posted, identifying the College Board as the successful proposer.  A protest to the procurement process was filed, and was subsequently denied.
