UPDATED 2/16/2016: Finch Drive death under investigation by Decatur Police

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE – The Decatur Police Department is currently investigating a woman’s death after it was reported on Valentine’s Day afternoon.

Officers responded to a report of a deceased woman in the 2300 block of Finch Drive at 12:30 PM on Sunday, February 14. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed there was in fact a deceased woman on the premises. The woman had been involved in an altercation earlier in the day; however, it is still undetermined if this lead to her death.

Macon County Coroner Michael Day identified the woman as 38-year-old Jacqueline Green.  Day says preliminary autopsy results show that Green died due to a subdural hematoma due to blunt trauma of the head.

One person, identified as Bryan Brumett, 30, has been arrested in connection with that altercation.  Police say this death is being classified as a homicide, that Brumett and Green knew each other, and that this was not a random act.

Authorities are investigating the events that led to her death, and the suspect may face additional charges. At the time of this writing, Brumett is facing a preliminary charge of involuntary manslaughter.  More information will be released as it becomes available.
