Posted:

Decatur – Police in Decatur are calling the death of a woman a homicide.

38 year old Jacqueline Green was found dead in her home at about 12:30pm Sunday.  The Macon County Coroner says she died of a blunt trauma to the head.  Green lived in the 2300 block of East Finch Street.

Decatur Police detectives have taken a 30 year old man into custody.  He is being held in the Macon County Jail pending formal charges.  Deputy Chief Cody Moore says Green and the suspect knew each other and it was not a random event.

Macon County Coroner Michael Day said in a prepared release that Green and the suspect on had been in a “physical altercation” in the home in the early morning hours.  Other in the home found her “unresponsive” and called 9-1-1.  She was dead when police arrived.
