Hospitals Tax Decision Goes to Illinois Supreme Court

URBANA – Carle Health System and Presence Covenant Medical Center will have to pay property taxes, for now.

The Champaign County board of review heard arguments today from both health providers about not paying the taxes.

Under the decision, Carle will have to pay $9 million dollars, with Covenant paying $1 million.  Now, the decision goes to the Illinois Supreme Court.

The decision should come by March 15.
