Greek Orthodox Prayer Event

Posted: Updated:

Springfield - Christian leaders from many faiths will join together with Governor Bruce Rauner on Thursday, February 25th.

The group's plan is to pray for suffering people suffering across the nation as well as in Illinois.

The event takes place at Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Parish at 6:30 p.m. in Springfield. The event is free and open to the public.

The Greek Orthodox Parish says Governor Rauner will be in attendance to share his thoughts on those who suffered recently due to flooding in Illinois. Also expected to be in attendance is Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos, clergy from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield, the Illinois Conference of Churches, and the Historic Grace Lutheran Church. The leadership of many other religious denominations have also been invited.
