CHAMPAIGN -- Illinois wide receiver Marchie Murdock is headed back to the Lone Star State.
The Illinois sophomore, who announced his intent to transfer in January, announced Monday that Texas State was his new landing spot.
The Arlington, Texas native will be about 200 miles from home in TSU's San Marcos campus, which is just south of Austin.
"I would like to thank the coaches who have all been looking at me ever since my announcement of leaving," said Murdock via Twitter.

Murdock caught 20 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns through Illinois' first five games this season. Hampered by injuries, he did not factor in the team's offense in the final seven games of 2015.
