Trump, Clinton lead latest Illinois poll

ILLINOIS - With the Illinois primaries just a few weeks away, the latest polls are looking favorable for billionaire Donald Trump.

The Simon Poll/SIU shows Trump has 28 percent of the vote. Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich are neck and neck, with 15, 14, and 13 percent, respectively. Neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson has six percent.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton is in front of Bernie Sanders, 51-32 percent.

The Illinois Primary Election will take place March 15.

The next big contest is March 1, more commonly known as "Super Tuesday."

Primaries in both parties will take place in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont and Virginia. Alaska will hold its Republican caucus while American Samoa will caucus for Democrats. For Republicans, 595 delegates are at stake on Super Tuesday. 1,004 will be up for grabs for Democrats. The eventual Democratic nominee has to win 2,383 delegates to win the nomination. The Republican nominee must win 1,237 delegates.
