SPRINGFIELD-More than 1,000 workers spent Wednesday night restoring power after winter weather, Ameren Illinois reported.

In an explanation you can find here, the utility company explained its workers make repairs that affect the largest number of customers first.

Customers with damaged weather heads need to have them repaired by an electrician before the power company can restore service, Ameren representatives said.
