Changes Coming to the Decatur Forsyth Classic


Decatur-  After 31 years, the Decatur Forsyth Classic will change dates.  Normally held in Mid-June, in 2016, it will be held August 8-14. With this change of date, the committee is embracing the opportunity and planning several new and exciting updates to the schedule. Community events, that are part of tournament week, still include three ProAms, the Par Tee and Trivia Night.

Last year’s winner, Jimin Kang, was declared the unofficial winner of the Decatur Forsyth Classic after Tour officials and tournament staff suspended second round play at 1:25 pm on Sunday and the tournament was officially shortened.

In this years projected field, there will be players representing 26 Midwest Universities and Colleges, including University of Illinois, Illinois State University, Indiana University, Ohio State University, Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. The field for the 2016 Decatur Forsyth Classic highlights a list of past tournament winners, as well as featuring future LPGA stars.
