Statewide Tornado Drill Tomorrow (March 1)

Posted: Updated:

CENTRAL ILLINOIS - A statewide tornado drill will be taking place on Tuesday, March 1 at 10:00 AM. The test tornado warning will be issued for all Illinois counties and will be broadcast on NOAA Weather Radio with the tone alarm. Numerous radio and television stations will also participate by relaying a test tornado warning.

The National Weather Service, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), local EMA offices along with meteorologists/broadcasters are all recommending to take the time during the test tornado warning to conduct a tornado drill at your business, school home or any location where people gather.

The statewide tornado drill coincides with Severe Weather Preparedness Week, which runs from February 28 through March 5 in central Illinois. For more information visit the National Weather Service website.
