ILLINOIS - GasBuddy officials say the average price for a gallon of gasoline in Illinois has risen 10.1 cents in the past week.
According to a news release from GasBuddy.com, Illinois gas prices are averaging $1.79 per gallon, about nine cents higher than a month ago, and about 66.5 cents cheaper than last year. The national average and also seen an increase of 3.7 cents per gallon, bringing it to $1.74.
GasBuddy Senior Petroleum Analyst Gregg Laskoski says the increase is being caused my refineries transitioning from "winter blend" to "summer blend" production, as well as refinery run cuts.
