Active Fire Training - Midwest Swat Academy Opens

Mt. Zion – The Midwest Swat Academy has opened its doors.  A place where you can learn to shoot without using a real gun.

The Academy provides training for beginning and expert shooters, using a simulator, showing active live fire scenarios.  Ranging from a hold up in a bar to facing an armed gunman in a parking lot.  The Midwest Swat Academy is also going to be used for training law enforcement.

“Plan, prepare and protect,” Jeff DeVore of the Academy told WAND’s Doug Wolfe.  “If you find yourself in a concealed carry situation, an active shooter, or whatever the case may be there is a lot of decisions that have to be made in a very short period of time.”

“It’s a life or death decision that you’re making that may affect your life or somebody else’s life, “said Mark Scranton of Midwest.  “Making a decision about use of force is a key element in personal protection and you have to think about your surroundings.  What’s going on around you.”

The Midwest Swat Academy is primarily used for training but can also be used for entertainment.  They can be found on the web and have a Facebook page.
