State legislature: Will they or won't they override Governor Rauner's veto?

SPRINGFIELD - There never seems to be a dull moment in the state legislature.

On tap Wednesday: Illinois lawmakers are expected to vote on whether to override Governor Bruce Rauner's veto of a bill  (SB 2043) designed to add funding  for community colleges and tuition grants for low-income students.

Rauner says he supports funding for higher education; however, he said the state doesn't have $721 million to allocate to the tuition grants.

The state still has not passed a budget for the current fiscal year. The historic stalemate has lasted eight months.
