Springfield residents invited to National Skate Day

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Park District is inviting children ages three years and up, and their parents and guardians, to attend National Skate Day on March 5.

National Skate Day will be held at the Nelson Center, starting at 9:30 a.m.  Attendees will be able to enjoy figure skating and hockey demonstrations, free skating lessons, and a free public skate session.

Additionally, more than $200 in prizes will be raffled off during this event.  National Skate Day is open to the public, and is sponsored by the Springfield Park District, Springfield Figure Skating Club, and Springfield Youth Hockey Association.
