U Of I Seeking Hires To Help With Budget

Posted: Updated:

URBANA – The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana wants to hire two administrators to help craft a campus budget approach and is holding campus-wide sessions to talk about its budget.

Interim Provost Edward Feser says the campus is looking at "significant reforms" in its budgeting process. Feser says that's in addition to preparing for serious spending reductions in response to the state budget impasse in Springfield.

Feser says a search is underway to hire a vice provost for planning and budgeting. He also says he wants to hire a second administrator to work on budgeting issues.

Separately, the campus will hold three informational sessions over the next two weeks to talk about the budget, including the overall approach to budget planning and how the budget is organized.
