New Bill Promises New Jobs

Posted: Updated:

Springfield, IL – It’s called the Illinois Clean Jobs Bill and it’s promising to create thirty two thousand new jobs and keep those jobs at the same level for the next ten years.

You can read more about the bill on the Illinois Clean Jobs website.

The occupations would be for those that design efficiency measures, weatherize and insulate buildings and upgrade appliances and technology.

Renewable energy is a large part of the bill’s implementation with wind and solar leading the way.

The reduction of carbon emissions is also in the bill.

The bill would allow the EPA  http://www.epa.gov/   to create a mass-based cap and investment market to trade carbon emissions with other states.

The state of Washington is eying a carbon tax. It would be the first in the nation to levy a fee on carbon emissions from fossil fuels.
