CRIME TRACKER: String of Dollar General Robberies

SPRINGFIELD - A third Dollar General has been robbed in Springfield in just two weeks.

The string of robberies continued Thursday at the store at 101 North Grand Avenue. Springfield Police say a man walked in saying he had a gun around 2:45 in the afternoon. The robber stole an unknown amount of cash and left.

The description of the suspect is vague, police say he was a black man in his 30s and was wearing glasses, a purple hat, a black and gray striped sweatshirt as well as black black pants. 

The first Springfield Dollar General Robbery was on February 23rd at the 2015 North Grand Ave store. The next robbery was just 2 days later at the Dollar General on Knoll Pointe Place.
