Citizens invited to "Bark for Life" on April 23

SPRINGFIELD - The American Cancer Society is inviting citizens and their canine companions to attend the "Bark for Life" on April 23, 2016.

This event will be held at Southwind Park in Springfield from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with opening ceremonies starting at 11:00 a.m.  Activities that are scheduled include a non-competitive dog walk, a dog/owner look-a-like contest, and games.  Food and refreshments will also be available.

American Cancer Society officials say anyone who has had cancer touch their lives are encouraged to attend this family-friendly event.  All money raised during this event will benefit the American Cancer Society's efforts in eliminating cancer.

Registration fees are $25 per person, $35 for a person and one dog, and $45 for a person and two dogs.  For more information, email barkforlifespringfield@gmail.com.
