Community Input Wanted for Next RCC President

Posted: Updated:

Decatur - Richland Community College is searching for it's next president and is asking for your help.

The Board of Trustees say they are committed to conducting an equitable, participatory, inclusive and fair search that will attract a strong pool of presidential candidates, locally, regionally and nationally.

The Board selected the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) to assist  with the presidential search process.  ACCT has conducted over 400 community college searches/  ACCT’s mission is to strengthen community college governance through education, advocacy, and service.  Narcisa Polonio, Ed.D. ACCT Executive Vice President for Research, Education and Board Leadership Services will coordinate the search with Richland’s local ACCT Consultant, Patricia Keir, Ed.D.

One opportunity to engage in the presidential search process is the development of the Presidential Profile.  This Presidential Profile will let prospective candidates know the future direction of the College as well as the ideal characteristics Richland is seeking in a new president.

Profile development has two initial components including a survey instrument and open public forums. Community members are encouraged to respond to the survey at .The survey is available until March 9, 2016, at 5:00 p.m.

Dr. Keir will be on campus on March 9th to facilitate two open public forums where community members can address the same questions and provide broader context.  Forums will be held on March 9, 2016, in the Shilling Auditorium on the campus of Richland Community College at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
