Nancy Reagan's Alma Mater To Hold Public Memorial

EUREKA---The president of Ronald Reagan's alma mater Eureka College says the Illinois school will have a public memorial for Nancy Reagan.

Eureka College President David Arnold called the late first lady "a terrific woman." Ronald Reagan graduated from Eureka College in 1932.  Nancy Reagan visited the college seven times between 1967 and 1992. Later in her life, college officials went to visit her in California.

Arnold presented her with an honorary doctor of humane letters degree at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California in April 2009. The degree was to honor her charitable work, including awareness of Alzheimer's disease.

Nancy Reagan died on Sunday of congestive heart failure at her home in Los Angeles. She was 94.

Eureka College is about 20 miles east of Peoria.
