EFFINGHAM – An Illinois man has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for extorting women and producing child pornography.

Stephen Mislich, 25, of Altamont pleaded guilty in September to charges of identity theft, extortion, and production and distribution of child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Staci M. Yandle sentenced Mislich on Monday to 19 years and seven months on the production of child pornography charge. Yandle imposed lesser sentences on the other charges, which will run concurrently with the longer sentence.

She also ordered him to pay a $2,000 fine and to spend the rest of his life on supervised release.

Mislich was accused of hacking into women's online accounts and forcing them to send him nude images.

Yandle described Mislich's actions as "psychological terrorism."
