Sullivan-- Ivan’s Woodworking Shop in Rural Sullivan, in Moultrie County caught fire.  The Owner estimates the loss at anywhere from $500,000 to a million dollars.

The cabinet company has been in business for more than 20 years.  The owner’s son says his dad and brother own the company.  There was a small fire outback and then it started the diesel fuel tank, which holds thousands of gallons of fuel on fire.  The diesel fuel tank exploded and with the wind on Tuesday March 8th, it just spread to the shop.  Equipment and product is a total loss, according to son Wayne Schrock.

Arlon Long, Assistant Fire Chief with the Sullivan Fire Protection district says 8 fire protection districts came to give mural aid at the huge fire, which took hours to put out.  Findlay, Bethany, Lovington, Windsor, Wabash, Cooks Mills, Humboldt and Arthur were all involved and because of the shop being in a rural area, Firefighters had to truck water in.

About 6 pm firefighters were still putting out the last of the hot spots.  Wayne says his dad is holding up well considering.  There were no injuries.
