GRINNELL, IOWA -- Former Central A&M, current North Central star Madison Renfro crossed the finish line first in the women's 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday.
Renfro clocked in at 8.55 seconds, setting a new track record and breaking the North Central record of 8.59 seconds.
"Going into this year, my goal for both the indoor and outdoor seasons was to be a national champion," Renfro said. "That was my mindset and my goal for myself. It was something I expected. It was all about staying positive, finding ways to work around injury, and to keep moving forward in any way possible."
Renfro becomes the first women's national champion from North Central since 2009.
