Gas prices in Illinois see nearly 20 cent increase

Posted: Updated:

ILLINOIS - The average price for a gallon of gasoline in Illinois rose nearly 20 cents in the last week, according to a survey from GasBuddy.com.

GasBuddy officials say the increase follows the trend seen throughout the country, as the national average price has risen 11.9 cents to $1.93 per gallon.  Illinois' average is sitting at $2.06 a gallon, compared to $1.88 per gallon a week ago.

Officials also say that prices are nearly half a dollar more expensive than this time last month.  However, gas prices in Illinois are about 31 cents cheaper than what they were a year ago, and $1.69 cheaper than this time in 2014.
