Tornado Watch For Part of Central Illinois

Central Illinois-The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for Cass, Christian, DeWitt, Logan, Macon, Macoupin, McLean, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, Piatt, Sangamon and Scott Counties until 9 PM.

Storms have developed across northeastern Missouri and western Illinois and are tracking northeast. Counties included in and around the watch area could see wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph, large hail of 1" to 2" and a few isolated tornadoes. WAND Chief Meteorologist JC Fultz says the greatest risk for tornadoes looks to remain northwest of I-55. Fultz says this doesn't mean we can rule them out in other location, but to be on alert. Fultz also says, to make sure your NOAA Weather Radio is turned on and to stay tuned to WAND for the latest updates!
