DECATUR- DPS 61’S board of education will revisit the contract extension vote in April.
After a heated discussion among board members during the March 15th meeting, finally, board member Brian Hodges suggested they table the vote for a later date. One in which they could according to board member TJ Jackson, “settle their differences.”
The meeting consisted of a full report from auditors that the district hired to look into some spending that was concerning. There were “p-card” purchases made that incurred costs that were not approved.
But since many of that information cannot be confirmed or discussed due to contingencies with FOIA board members could not speak to some personnel decisions.
April is when the board will take a vote to either renew or not extend Lisa Taylor’s contract past the 2017 school year.
