SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department says it's investigating a robbery that took place at a Family Dollar store Wednesday afternoon.

Springfield police say the robbery happened at the Family Dollar location in the 300 block of North Grand East at about 1:53 p.m.  Authorities say the suspect approached the clerk, demanded money, and left on foot after receiving money.

The suspect is described at standing about 5'10" to 6' tall with a thin build, thin "pencil" beard, and wearing a dark-colored shirt and ball cap.  We've included images of the suspect wanted in connection with this robbery in this article.

Springfield police also say they are investigating the possibility that this is the same suspect from one or more recent robberies at Dollar General locations throughout the city.

If you have any information on this robbery, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (217) 788-8427.  We will provide more information as it becomes available.
