Man Accused of Hate Crime for Using Racial Slurs

Decatur- A 43 year old Decatur man is accused of a hate crime.  Decatur police arrested Charles Genet on March 15th in the area of Gulick and Olive Streets. 

He's accused of yelling the "N" word at his black neighbors across the street several times.  The neighbors were apparently holding a prayer meeting on their porch.  Genet is then accused of hanging up a Confederate Flag on the railing of his porch. 

He faces one count of a hate crime and has a $15,000 bond.
