Easter Spending is Up This Year


NEW YORK- Americans are expected to spend more than ever on Easter, this year.  

According to a survey by the National Retail Federation, those celebrating Easter plan to spend an average of $146.00, per person. That’s the highest level in the 13 years of the survey and up more than $5.00, over last year.

Smart shoppers will be comparing prices and taking advantage of promotions on things like apparel and candy. More than half plan to cook a holiday meal and about 31-percent plan to have an Easter egg hunt.

Total spending for this year's Easter is expected to reach $17.3 billion dollars.
