Springfield police investigate armed robbery

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Family Video location just after midnight on March 7.

Springfield police say an employee of Family Video, located on South MacArthur Boulevard, was confronted by a white male displaying a small silver handgun.  Police say the male had been hiding behind a vehicle in the parking lot, and that the suspect left in a vehicle parked in an alley near the business after taking the business' cash deposit.

The suspect is described as standing between 5'9" and 6' tall with a medium build, and was driving a grey foor-door sedan.  If you have any information on this incident, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (217) 788-8427.
