Another Success For Bowl For Kids' Sake

DECATUR- 2016 Bowl For Kids’ Sake another round of strikes for the organization.

A weekend long event at Pla-Mor Lanes hundreds of participants joined in to help raise a goal of $500,000 for the Central Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

This year the “Big Sister” of Illinois was plucked right from the local branch, Gretchen Karcher who said, “You always have your parents and you’ve got your teachers who you can go to for help often times but kids don’t always feel comfortable with that..They need somebody else who they can talk to and be comfortable with.”

Gretchen along with many more believe that the program does so much for the youth in the area.

Craig Culp said, “I basically became a “big” back in 1998, It’s always kind of rewarding to see them graduate from high school and see them go on to do other things.”

Nationally, the Bowl For Kids’ Sake has raised more than $5 million dollars for the larger Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization.
